Fairground Foundation is a not-for-profit that helps other not-for-profits get their ideas off the ground.

They commissioned us to design the brand for a new online crowd funding app built around their purpose to support local, (smaller, inexperienced) grass roots groups who want to participate in helping look after New Zealand’s environment. In short, they needed to introduce ‘donors’ to their ‘doers’.

Naming the company ‘Bucket’ was the most no-nonsense, straightforward way of stating what they do — it speaks of hard work, productivity and accumulation. Our idea was to bring to life Bucket's activist spirit, filling the brand with confidence, transparency, openness and a whole lot of playfulness. 

The app works like this: the more votes your cause gets, the faster it fills your bucket, the sooner your project gets funding. Simple.
