From its inception in 1993 ecostore has grown from Malcolm and Melanie Rands’ Northland backyard to a leading brand sold all over the world.
With a partnership stretching over eleven years we’ve worked together to develop a brand that lives their “safer for you” promise. Using ecostore’s philosophy of minimising ingredients to guide our design strategy of “only what you need” we designed refreshingly simple packaging forms with only the most essential elements.
ecostore's values embrace both art and science; gentleness and efficacy. In this spirit, long time collaborators Mark and Deb Smith continue to bring their beautiful black and white photography to the design of the home cleaning products, and we commissioned New Zealand artist John Reynolds to create artworks for the personal care range.
The result is a human-centric brand delivering safe and effective cleaning and personal care products — from New Zealand to the world. This strong, directive brand position has enabled ecostore to expand confidently — both into new markets and new product categories — while remaining true to their purpose.
